Robert Shaye Should've made a Guest appearance like he did in the Nightmare movies

With a fascinating, incredible, exciting and wonderful idea and story that is like E.T. except with modern technology, an interesting script and dialogue that is understandable, a pace and flow that is perfect and a cast that is very talented that features 2 cute and great young kids and an adult cast headed by Timothy Hutton, Joely Richardson, Rainn Wilson, Kathryn Hahn and Michael Clarke Duncan, The Last Mimzy has enough humor, excitement and fantasy to make this sci-fi adventure a classic.

OK first and foremost this film pulls no punches about being New Agey, and that was just fine by me. I could see how this would throw some, but I think it fit well with the story. I thought the acting was quite good, especially the kid actors. They were the real stars of the show and that was how it was meant to be. The visuals were a good as one could ever expect, though I ultimately do not think what this film was about. The film underlining the theme was a message. A message of hope. In these times of global warming, terrorism, mass school killings, etc, this film was a shining ray. It really made me want to go out there and help the world in the ways needed via what I had to give. It should not be underestimated the value of this message, which is in part the reason why I gave it high marks. Yes, it was hokey at times and I made efforts to not let it spoil my overall impression, which in this case, hopefully, is a lasting one.

Brilliant film, bit weird in parts but still absolutly brilliant, sad when you are told the story of Mimzy but so kwl that those kids help.
