After attending the LA and New York premieres of Journey, I can say that the film was extraordinarily moving to the packed audiences in both cities. The common response several days later was the people were "still processing" what they saw, and what their response to the film should be. As a producer on the film, I have been profoundly touched by the overwhelmingly positive comments we have received about the film- and by the desire of those who have seen it to live more positive and engaged lives. Our focus has always been on making a movie that would trigger a movement, and Bronwen Hughes has directed a powerful testimony to the importance of "connection" in a disconnected, fragmented world. Ben Schnetzer is luminous in the role of Dan Eldon- and every actor was essential in bringing to life the real people who knew him. At at time when we are hungry for direction, leadership and hope, this film reminds us that we are the ones we have been waiting for.

For too much of its running time, Bronwen Hughes' feature feels more like a hyper-ebullient travelogue than a biographical portrait of an extraordinary young man.

This film is a must see. We need more films like this one - it is beautifully shot and tells the story or journalists who risk their lives to tell stories that need to be told, of the struggles of conflict refugees in Somalia 25 years ago that heartbreakingly resembles what's happening today. It also gives us insight into the complex, creative and courageous character of Dan Eldon who continues to inspire people to life more fully. Dan calls forward a sense of our humanity while nudging us to think about how we are living our lives - or to live a "life on" as Dan would say. It leaves you with a feeling that the journey continues with us...

Haunting, profound, inspiring... a must see! I saw this film a week ago and images, quotes, and wisdom from this creative masterpiece keep playing in my mind. It's a film that you can't shake - and you won't want to. It's brilliant. Imagine what our world would be like if even half the people inspired by this film dare to live as Dan did - to embrace both fear and love, to seek truth, and to connect deeply.

We screened this film at the Fisher Theatre in Sedona this month and the response was exceptional! With comments such as, "I full-on cried at the end!" to "Wonderfully made film!" (by a filmmaker herself!), The Journey Is the Destination was a success for the theater and a hit with the audience--- sparking something within each age group. No matter how short or long life is, life is life. And life is art. Thanks to the Eldon family and the entire crew and cast for creating this and sharing Dan's journey and art with us.
