Offers a harrowing yet hopeful picture of what good women (and one man) can do when they do choose to rebel against patriarchal power.

Definitely recommend. Loved every aspect of this film. The writing. The cinematography and the story. Wow. Bravo.

To my Female Friends, this movie was very empowering, written, directed with a predominately all female cast! Much of the subject matter is as relevant today as it was back in 1945 (faith/war/rape/hope/women). Interesting conversation platform after watching! While this is not a true story it is based on the experience of a female doctor in post-World War II and received awards posthumously.

Never have I seen a movie come so close to replicating the revolutionary style of Ingmar Bergman than The Innocents. Tackling tough themes with maturity and intelligence, The Innocents is a multi-layered work that serves as a platform for statements on themes ranging from the concept of faith to life's morality dilemma.

It’s an emotionally involving rather than harrowing film, with scenes as beautiful as oil paintings.
