The dramatic and often sad lives led by the women yield surprisingly intimate dramas considering such limitless surroundings, a contrast that's played up by the excellent cinematography.

Went to see this with some friends last night. I had seen a trailer for it and thought it looked wonderful. The scenery was beautiful and I feel they captured the sense of seclusion beautifully, however, the time line that was used was a little on the choppy side, for a lack of better words. One moment you were watching a little girl grow up and the next she is a woman - same with her mother. I would've like to of seen what made the mother turn soft and love where she was at, other than Muzzu, and what made the daughter grow up so bitter and then change in the end. I was glad to of watched it once, but it would not be a movie I would rent or watch a second time.

Casting the daughter as the grandmother and vice versa worked well for the development of this film. A great sense of time and struggle is presented throughout this drama. A fanstastic landscape lends itself to the pathos of this family.
