The Host offers so much. In fact a great deal of this movie is about the people not the monster. The story twists and weaves around the a dysfunctional family and how they unite to rescue a family member. The film is handled with a wonderful touch, at times delicate and heart breaking, at other times stirring and exciting. I regularly recommend this film to friends and colleagues. It's superb.

The Host is one of the most intense, emotional, and well executed monster movies of all time. I can scarcely think of a movie that blends such a perfect score, sense of dread and uneasiness, and the occasional laugh to the perfect effect that The Host manages to pull off. And while it certainly is a political satire underneath all of the fun and horror, The Host never ceases to be entertaining. I feel comfortable in saying that The Host is just about as close to the "perfect" monster movie as we'll get.

A brilliant mixture of genres! One of a kind.

Although, perhaps a bit long, this monster movie is exciting, entertaining and surprisingly funny

The Host is a fantastic Korean film, and is one of the very best foreign movies that I've seen. Though it can easily be described as a "monster flick," The Host is just so much more than that. The acting is top knotch, dialogue is clever, the action is exciting, and the story is incredibly compelling and unpredictable at times. This is one foreign film that you just have to see.
