Hmmm . . . where to begin? There is a lot to love about this film. First, it stars the beautiful and talented Juliette Binoche. Second, her co-star is yummy. Third, Gérard Depardieu appears in a brief cameo. And finally, the production value of this film is off the charts. It is truly a joy to look at. And the story starts out promisingly enough. But the pace is so leisurely that the end SUCKS. I mean really, WTF? It's like they ran out of time and/or money. It's worth a look, but don't get your hopes up. One small spoiler for the men in the crowd: Ms. Binoche does get a brandy massage at one point.

Des paysages merveilleux, des cavalcades somptueuse et un romantisme décuplé par la présence de la mort (le choléra). Un parfaite adaptation de Jean Giono avec des acteurs très convaincants. Quel souffle !

Great Romance. Similar to any Jane Austin story. Angelo is a true romantic hero character. Strong and silent-Just the way I like my men-LOL.The shots are gorgeous and the acting is awesome. Nice to see a romantic male story. This is truly worth seeing.

Lovely movie to watch with great country side scenery. I like the romance in this movie, not over the top fairy tale but just two people interacting with each other but with some sort of tension. Its like trying to find out if they have feelings for each other by the body language and the way they interact.
