The Electric Horseman (1979)

A former champion rodeo rider is reduced to using his saddle skills to promote a breakfast cereal in a gaudy Las Vegas show. When he's asked to perform with a $12 million horse, he discovers it is being doped to remain docile. He flees into the desert astride the beast in an act of defiance. There's not as much chemistry between Redford and Fonda as in their previous outing, but this type of script could never reach the intensity of the last one. Nevertheless it is a well-meaning story and conveys itself perfectly in that way.

A nice western drama and love story. It's a tad bit lengthy in some areas, but the dialogue was decent, if there wasn't considerably too much of it. The subtle action moments were also a good and engaging touch to this film. Beautiful scenery to compliment it as well.
