one of the best gay films ever made!! this film was made in 1977, a true pioneer in gay cinema! Great cast and realistic, based on a true story! a true contender with brokeback mountain and milk.

It is odd that such an oustanding film, is only seen by a handful and I centrainly hope that just because it has a strong gay storyline is not the reason why it was ignored. One to see.

Forbidden gay love stories were much more pragmatic in the 1970's than they are today. This particular movie deals with both the matter of a relationship between two men with a significant age different separating them, as well as their right to be together since homosexuality was once deemed a crime. I was well beguiled by this movie almost all the way through. Close to the ending however, I lost all interest without being able to pinpoint why exactly. Still, it remains a deeply interesting movie, reminiscent of Fassbinder, that should be seen at least once by those who follow the flourishing of gay cinema.
