(most of) THE CRITICS WERE WRONG. it's a long movie, and a well thought out movie. everyone involved with this movie put in a lot of hard work and should be applauded for the result. the music worked, the 3d worked, the time travel to another era worked. it was well worth it and I'm glad i went against the poor reviews.

To be honest I am just so confused about many of these reveiws here on this website and in general. They dont match what I read in the comments of youtube and of many people Ive talked to in real life. This movie quickly took its place as my #1 favourite movie. It sails you high for the first half of the movie, I was elated happy, blown away with the colors and the characters, intrigued by everything. The last half of the movie tears it all away, and that's why its so amazing. The story is amazing, the set up of this entire movie is amazing, the cinematography is spectacular. Amazing isnt even a great word to use, I need a better word. To say the least I am completely confused as to why this has low ratings on this website... Ahhhh I love this movie and will watch it 100 more times.

This film and story will never get old! I love it so much. The artistic development fits so well with the novel, and thrle characters/actors are all fantastic!

Baz Luhrmann has managed to do it again. After the release of his 2009 film Australia, I was some what skeptical about seeing The Great Gatsby, (as I didn't really enjoy Australia) but I really loved the book and I really love Baz Luhrmann's films (especially Moulin Rouge) so I thought I'd watch it. I was hooked on it, particularly the costume design and the actors.
