laugh-out-loud funny. Unintentionally, which makes it that much more enteraining.

One of the most romantic films I've seen takes a plot that could have been contrived in the modern day: a ghost and living soul fall in love but can't be together, and though while in the present we would find a way to overcome the premise and provide the happiest and rosiest ending possible, this film ends happily but in a much more believable and even tragic way.

This is absolutely my favorite movie with Rex Harrison...seriously, he is absolutely amazing as the gruff old sea captain. I love the relationship between him and Gene Tierney.

Rex Harrison does good swine and Gene Tierney is just filthily fit. Good and tragic.
