Tired of scaring humans every October 31 with the same old bag of tricks, Jack Skellington, the spindly king of Halloween Town, kidnaps Santa Claus and plans to deliver shrunken heads and other ghoulish gifts to children on Christmas morning. But as Christmas approaches, Jack's rag-doll girlfriend, Sally, tries to foil his misguided plans.

I loved this film, (and I'm not just biased because I grew up with it as a kid, honest.) The stop-frame animation is beautiful, the models are delicate, detailed and original. The storyline is moving and thought-provoking. It creates a dream-world both thrilling and terrifying and portrays a real and rare depth of emotion from the main character, Jack, as he grasps at a ill-fitting dream to cure life's day-to-day monotony. As in so many great stories, it is the protagonist's flaw which causes Jack's downfall and betrays something akin to arrogance within his personality. It makes him, and the storyline real and believable (to an extent of course). Add all of that to some simply beautiful music, wonderful voice acting and a colourful array of background characters, each with their own stories, and that is what makes this film not only one of my favourites, but also one of the greatest animated movies ever.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is my favorite movie to watch during both Halloween and Christmas time ever year. It has spectacular visual effects. The story and screenplay are remarkable. The soundtrack phenomenal and I especially love the songs This Is Halloween, Sally's Song, and What's This. The soundtrack is my favorite animated movie soundtrack, my 3rd favorite movie soundtrack of all time and one of my favorite albums of all time. The voice over performances were stupendous and very well done especially from Chris Sarandon/Danny Elfman, Catherine O'Hara, Ken Page, and William Hickey. The Nightmare Before Christmas is my favorite Halloween movie of all time, my favorite Christmas movie of all time, my favorite stop-motion movie, one of my top 5 favorite musicals, one of my top 5 favorite animated movies, and one of my favorite movies of all time. This is an A+ movie.

Have always loved this movie! One of my favorite! Tim Burton gives us a dark, but charming twist on a children's film that makes it so appealing to our eyes, we want to watch time and time again. I have never seen a bad movie from this guy and he keeps on surprising us with other movies like Beetlejuice, Corpse Bride, Edward Scissorhands, etc.
