In a hospital on the outskirts of 1920s Los Angeles, an injured stuntman begins to tell a fellow patient, a little girl with a broken arm, a fantastic story about 5 mythical heroes. One of my all time favorites... such a touching story, such lavish cinematography and so much heart is imbibed in this film that u'll definitely be a different person after finishing this film..

One of my favorites now! As good as (and better than, even) 'El Labirito del Fauno', which is quite similar. Beautiful movie, a bit slow to start, but actually worth watching the first five minutes or so (and opening credits especially!) AFTER having seen it all. A bit similar to 'The Neverending Story', too. A must see. Moving, and beautiful, despite some script's easy tricks and clichÃ©s.

Amazing and beautiful fairy tale! I admire all hard work of the crew and just couldn't imagine how all this story could be realized. There is no enough words to tell you about all the feelings which creep me over while watching this tremendous movie.

Lee Pace in an incredible actor. I fell in love with this movie from the very beginning. Despite being in tears through the last 30 minutes of this movie I was so happy with the ending. Such a beautiful film.

what a gorgeous, amazing film. i liked this better than pan's labyrinth, and that's saying a lot. it took me so long to see it because of bad reviews (wtf!). This is from the same director as The Cell, and you can really see similarities in the total perfction of the set and costume design. the story is dark and satyrical but also moving, and the little girl is played by possibly the most adorable child actor ever. the fantasy part of the film looked completely magical. also: great behind the scenes featurettes on the dvd, and awesome massive attack video based on this (paradise circus)
