The Emerald Forest (1985)

For ten years, engineer Bill Markham has searched tirelessly for his son Tommy who disappeared from the edge of the Brazilian rainforest. Miraculously, he finds the boy living among the reclusive Amazon tribe who adopted him. And that's when Bill's adventure truly begins. For his son is now a grown tribesman who moves skillfully through this beautiful-but-dangerous terrain, fearful only of those who would exploit it. And as Bill attempts to "rescue" him from the savagery of the untamed jungle, Tommy challenges Bill's idea of true civilization and his notions about who needs rescuing.

If you liked princess Mononoke you will love this motion picture. Great statement on the need to preserve the rain forests and their inhabitants. Runs like a fairy tale. Brilliant 80's movie.

Amazing story. Although it says it's based on a true story, from what I've read it may actually be based on several different stories. Either way, it is an amazing movie for anyone who is devoted to the earth and sees the wrongs of civilization.

Il s'agit d'un chef d'oeuvre, film qu'i n'a pas vieilli 15 ans plus tard... et toujours d'actualitÃ© concernant la dÃ©forestation de l'amazonie et la disparition des tribus qui y vivent ! On est tout simplement entrainer par cette performance extraordinaire et les aventures de Tomme... jeune blanc Ã©levÃ© par les "Invisibles" :-))
