Unfortunately I've only had access to Them which is the combination of both Him and Her so I am yet to have the full Rigby experience. But as far as Them goes it is fantastically acted by its two leads; Mcavoy and Chastain play broken beautifully and tragically. The film is well made with lovely cinematography and a good score but for some reason it didn't connect with. I found it cold and distant; the script leaves a lot unexplained which could be because this is the combination of two films but even then it show enough for all this heartache to be a worthwhile viewing experience. Its intentions are good, performances fantastic but either the script or direction stopped it from being emotionally involving.

It is very much a first film, albeit one of rare ambition, and there's every reason to think that Benson will nail it next time around. The film's absolutely worth watching for the performances alone... But in and of itself, the "Them" version of The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby doesn't quite add up to the sum of its parts.

The film rests, though, on the sturdy shoulders of Chastain and McAvoy. They don’t share the intense chemistry this couple really needs, but they commit to the individual stories with touching persuasion.
