A great measure of Abe’s success is that it made me hungry. More than that, it’s the first movie in quite some time to make me smile.

No es la primera vez que hacen una película sobre comida y el arte de prepararla. Aquí, el intercalar las diferencias entre Israel y Palestina se siente algo forzada; no es que sea mala, más bien le faltó algo de inspiración para que fuera mejor.

This is a maudlin and predictable film, with oversimplified, kid-friendly takes on complex political issues. It’s also a surprisingly joyless production, lacking the stylistic and emotional flair to deliver even on the cheesy, feel-good promise of the setup.
