Very cool and creepy. It didn't have any real gore . It got under your skin with style .

The Devil's Candy is fitting proof that director Sean Byrne is no one-trick pony and can deftly change genres with skill and verve.

One of the better horror movies I've seen recently. The family trapped in the center of the story is believable, the villain is scary because he's a normal human being. Loved everything about it.

A different kind of scare, The Devil's Candy does a good job with its unconventional take on what a horror film is. It's as fun as it is scary, and electric guitar riffs provide unique atmospheres for Byrne to work with.

I hate to use a cliche phrase like "slow burn" to describe a film, especially when its running time is only 80 minutes, but it does fit with The Devil's Candy. Much of the early run time focuses on slow, panning shots of things like the main character developing his painting. But sticking with it will reward you with an incredibly intense (and well realized) serial killer story with some excellent acting and beautiful shot composition.
