Dramatically, Coppola and coscreenwriter William Kennedy, juggle a lot of balls in the air. The parallel stories of Gere and Hines' professional rise prove more potent, thanks largely to a mixture of romance, music and gangland involvement.

Not very well paced. I think this was around the time Coppola was losing his touch.

Clasic one!! you will like it if you understand the basis of al cinema: "Love". think about it..

A delight of vintage costuming and sets. Great performances in particular by Gregory Hines and Lonette McKee.

Richard Gere is a bit cheesy, but absolutely wonderful recreation of the roaring '20s: glamour, music, dance and gangsters.
