I'm almost ashamed to say this, but I think Josh Hartnett plays this kind of character quite well (especially in Sin City)

great story. actors played parts well, one of josh harnett's best for sure. sad points, and high points. and some just plain on screwed up parts to this movie. stillvery good, but if you dont like real-life horror movies, dont watch.

Em fitas noir, ambientação, aparências e comportamento carregam um peso superior à lógica da trama, em geral um emaranhado deliberadamente confuso de circunstâncias tão sinistras quanto improváveis. É quase um acidente ostentarem uma estrutura sensata ou crível como a de Chinatown ou L.A. Confidential. Levando-se em conta que as punhaladas desferidas em De Palma pelo seu trabalho de encomenda correto atingem as fundações características do gênero (reviravoltas ?forçadas?, atuações ?inexpressivas?, relato ?impessoal?, ?amoralidade?, ?estilo sobrepondo-se à substância?, etc), não resta outra saída além de descartá-las e saborear esta aventura pulp guiada por um craque da câmera que, mesmo tendo vivenciado dias melhores, fez o que se esperava do material-fonte de James Ellroy, com a competência usual ? lustrando-o com um brilho negro projetado por pequenas doses de camp que tornam o absurdo generalizado um deleite bizarro.

Good movie. Very nice 40's atmosphere, makes you almost wish you lived in that era. Plot is complicated, so keep paying attention, specially in the end...
