This film is the first and one the most impressive films ever made on WWI, especially the extraordinary attack scene. Even if the romance story is may be too "larmoyante", the atmosphere of the trenches and the the soldiers' attitudes are very well given by Vidor.

Groundbreaking and compelling. You'll have to be patient to get through the whole thing (especially the love story).

Powerful and beautiful. A great silent film- easily one of the greatest films in general. Requires some patience to take in the whole thing.

Masterpiece of silent cinema that has it all: great directing (on King Vidor's part), great acting, great cinematography and a strong cast.

So, I'm here, writing from the PC of my new, I don't know, girfriend? Maybe... Not many movies seen lately, only the wondereful masterpiece from 1925: King Vidor's "The Big Parade", one of the best war movies ever made.
