Con man Ray Elliot decides to leave crime behind to start a company that sells fake alibis to clients who have been unfaithful to their significant others. It seems that the streetwise Ray has found his calling, until he unexpectedly becomes a murder suspect in a case involving one of his most influential customers. Now, as the police and an assassin called "The Mormon" track Ray, he and his attractive assistant, Lola, must clear their own names.

Incredibly great, smart and original idea:DDD And the soundtrack is so capturing, especialy I love "Belle nuit, o nuit d'amour" in the end. Also the cast is great;) And... Bussines is good

Lies & Alibis is a terrific little comedy about a man (Steve Coogan, who is terrific in this film) who runs a lucrative business for cheating men and women. He hires some fresh new talent (Rebecca Romijn) and takes on a job for his best customer (James Brolin) as a favor. The favor is Brolin's son (played by James Marsden) who goes off with a girl before getting married and accidentally kills her. Coogan's character works fast to cover it up, but uses people who are looking for favors in return (Sam Elliot, Henry Rollins). Soon, people are wanting him dead, or wanting favors from him and Coogan is forced to conjure up old habits that he had never wanted to use again. The film is terrific, and very clever, plus there is a HUGE cast of great small-scale celebrities and character actors. I'm surprised this film hasn't gotten more recognition. Watch it!

This is a film good to watch when there is nothing else to watch. Mildly amusing and has some entertaining characters but others are dumbed down too much. The premise of the movie was creative but was obvious in giving away the whole plot. That is forgiveable if you have some really comedic scenes but nothing was good enough to make up for its predictability.

A very good film staring the great Steve Coogan doing what he does best - dark comedy. The story is original with a lot of humour but with serious elements to keep it from going off track, or to end up too much like another one of Coogans films. A must see, despite the suprisingly average rating from some other reviewers!
