Dum, the son of a peasant falls in love with Rumpoey, the daughter of a wealthy and respected family. The star-crossed lovers are torn apart for years, but their forbidden love survives. This movie was awesome. Very vivid and and interesting twist on a western. I recommend it.

A wonderfully offbeat, entirely artifice Thai Romeo & Juliet spaghetti-western, it has a grand sense of humor, but does not sacrifice characters or plot. The plot is a little predictable though (again, it is a remake of R&J) and a near end wedding incident seems awkward.

If for no other reason, watch this film for it's brilliant use of color. It does seem to get bogged down in it's stylistic choices and ends up lacking real heart.

If it had more humour it would be a full-blown parody. Apart from the deliberately colourful set designs, cinematography and method of acting, this is a pretty conventional storyline. It's all lost on me as I don't have any nostalgia for that sort of genre.
