used to love this movie, but it was weird

From time to time, you will happen to catch James Spader in a wreck of a film, and it usually is a bit of a surprise. This rather unexceptional sci-fi story is a good example. It might as well be any mediocre action thriller; the only difference is the setting and the special effects. The plot is full of holes and dangling loose ends, the characters are uninspiring, and the director resorts to sex scenes just a little too frequently. The consummate sci-fi fan may balk at the poorly-conceived technicals and science. The acting was passable, but just good enough to keep my watching this train wreck until it inevitable jumped the tracks.

loved it, fantastic effects Spader and Bassett were brilliant together and what a lovely voice she has.

** spoiler ** Bad movie on multiple levels. But 1 star for starring James Spader and 1 star for at least potentially destroying the entire universe.

Better than I thought it would be. Fairly decent movie.
