Following on from 1995's original Ghost in the Shell, and set in the original seperate universe to the TV serie. Innocence follows Section 9 agent Batou as he copes with new terrorist threats and without The Major. Utterly astonishing visuals and emotive characterisation make up for a slightly weak storyline. A must for fanst of Ghost in the Shell.

Great quality animation overshadowed by a slow and overly confused storyline.

This is definitely my favorite film, not necessarily because of the rich and scholarly detail in the narrative, but because the animation. As someone whose made a handful of animations, I understand very well how difficult the practice is, and I would never have been able to do this. Not only is it exquisitely detailed, but it is abundant in realistic, fluid motion of characters that evade the stereotypical "anime" appearance. Brilliant, beautiful, and Oshii's best.

Even better animation than the first. Even better character development than the first. Even more thought-provoking and philosophical than the first. Enough said. See it. The only thing I didn't like when I watched it was having to read subtitles when I could've been further admiring the awe-inspiring visuals. But it's better than hearing the lackluster American voice-acting that 90% of animes have that give them a bad name. This one is definitely smarter and more difficult to follow, but those who watch it with an open mind and 100% of their attention will be rewarded.

Dette er den beste animasjonsfilmen som nokon gong er laga. Spesielt bakgrunn- og ambiensanimasjonen er spektakulær.
