A bridge between director David Lean's early films and his five epic films that followed, "Summertime" is a perfect blend of great on-location filming and a terrific performance by Katherine Hepburn. A relaxing and breezy blend or romance and comedy by one of the great filmmakers...

As if they were acting my dream out, this is my movie, one of the list on my "bucket list" to be able to travel alone in europe, well finding someone who falls in love with me would be a welcome bonus. Lovely location, sweet Katharine.... "everything happens to him who waits" so true Jane, so true

Set in beautiful Venice in the 50's. Worth seeing just for the scenery.

Brilliant actress horribly miscast, and the whole film looks like it was funded by the Venice Tourist Board.
