an enthralling and brilliantly told tale by polanski that depicts perfectly the obsession you can have over something you can't have and at the same time forgetting to appreciate just how good what you already have is. something we are all guilty of at some point in our life. hugh grant is perfectly cast in a role which really suits his character.

Pour moi, Polanski, a fait deux chefs-d'oeuvre. Le bal des vampires et Lune de fiel. Et si tout comme moi, vous avez aime ce film, lisez le livre, il va encore plus loin...

This has to be one of most rude, funny, blisteringly critical of Polanski's dark comedies since Rosemary's Baby. Peter Coyote plays a writer of very bad prose who is fancying himself as Henry Miller-in-Paris (replete with a corny-but-gorgeous Vangelis theme in the background as backdrop) who meets his Anais Nin. It all to goes to hell from there. "Here piggy piggy!" This is dark, gut-bursting hilarious material that spares no one from the lampoon. Not even those of us watching it! Hugh Grant is always well-cast (sometimes he is not) as a bourgeois wanderling snared in Coyote's web.

one of polanski's best i think...makes you think about human capacity to love and hate. definitely thought provoking movie.
