A carefully crafted excercise on gothic horror that haunts you for a long time.

One of the better Tennesse Williams adaptations from play to screen, mostly due to the great atmosphere. The three leads are all great, especially Katharine Hepburn as the crazy mother of Sebastian.

What a bizarre story!! The performances are wonderful. The subject matter is disturbing. Classic Tennessee Williams. An absolute must-see.

(VHS) (First Viewing, 6 Mankiewicz films seen) Revisiting an old favorite, and it held up much better than I expected. Really superb performances by Kate Hepburn (for once playing a villian), and Elizabeth Taylor, and one of the bizarrest plots ever concocted, compliments of Tennessee Williams. Once again I have a review ready with no place to put it- of course it would happen that when I've actually had a flurry of productivity my program would be having problems. I've finally resorted to contacting the company, and hopefully they can help me straighten my problem out ASAP.

Great, creepy story. The play is opened up well with flashbacks to exactly what did happen suddenly last summer.
