The cast packs enough sexual ambiguity to satisfy the most rabid Williams fan (not to mention a screenplay by Gore Vidal), but Mankiewicz leaves much of the innuendo unexplored -- thankfully, perhaps.

So very Tennessee Williams. Powerfully acted, what an amazing cast. Katherine Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor give amazing performances. Very heavy drama, at times disturbing and certainly controversial, especially for 1959. Great direction.

This was fun and wacky, and I'm glad I saw it. The performances by Hepburn and Taylor were a delight, though at times the story felt a bit heavy handed. And yes, it's true, we all want to be like Sebastian!
