If you like one Kubrick film I would suggest this documentary about him and his directing style. One of the best documentaries I've seen even though there's an alien-man narrating it. This will make you want to watch other Kubrick films, which is a great idea, and it also gives you an idea of what to expect from those films so you are not completely disappointed. I would also suggest this to anyone who hasn't seen many Kubrick films, but would like to delve a little further. It will give you a great sense of which of his movies are right for your tastes.

Not a film but a great summation of one of the greatest director's life and his work. A wonderful, wonderful little piece conjured with a timeline and interviews. Such incredible talent this man had and I will forever be in awe of him and be inspired by him. Love this piece.

Caught bits and pieces of this on YouTube, but then I bought the new boxset the week before last which had this along with 2001, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket and Eyes Wide Shut. This was the first thing I watched. Very well put together and a constant source of fascination throughout. The use of music from Barry Lyndon at the end was very touching, too.

It made me appreciate him even more, and realize that I need to rent a couple of his films that I missed. I really liked seeing Sydney Pollack again too! Not many people could get away with calling Kubrick a pain in the ass.
