You know that milk-rheum teddy bear scene from Akira? Paprika is like that cranked to eleven. Toy-monster parades and maniacally adorable devastation, all filtered through Satoshi Kon's impossibly vivacious animation. A gorgeous thrill.

Maybe my favorite movie of all time (at least so far, lol)

The best movie I've seen in recent years (IMO)! Surprisingly (not!), it's NOT from Hollywood. The story could have been deeper, and the artwork more confusing, but hey, I ain't complaining. I love pretty much everything about the movie. I like how they sometimes make you wonder if the scenes you're watching are 'real' events (as in, events that the main characters are truly experiencing), or just illusions. Paprika is truly my kind of movie. As I said, the movie could use more confusing storyline, but I'd take it any day over the usual explosion Hollywood crap.

This movie is very insightful and breath taking. The storyline is fantastic. Even if you are not into the "Anime" genre this is a great movie to see.

Smart, funny, beautiful, spectacular. This movie has it all! Satoshi Kon was a genius and anybody who thinks this movie sucks, obviously has seen too much western films and can't recognize the true art.
