a great love story that is closer to the realities of romance for many people, having a bittersweet instead of happy ending

This is the only movie I have seen that makes me truly sad after it ends. Natalie Wood's performance is one of the few that has ever really affected me, Warren Beatty is equally great. Even though it's over two hours I have on occasion watched it 3 times in a row.

So i dont see this movie to often, cause its old and not played much, but whenever i can catch it i watch it. its a love story classic, and movies now a days are nothing like it. and as for the comments about "over dramatic parts".. this was mad in 1961 - ALL MOVIES that old are over dramatic.

Really beautiful tragic film about the pressures of sex for teenagers in the 50's. I love Natalie Wood.

This is an amazing film. Warren Beatty and Natalie Wood are so great in this film! This movie completely caught me by sirprise. I wass flipping through the channels, and I saw it on Turner Classic Movies. I immediately got hooked. especially love the ending! I did not see that one coming! A Note to Everyone: Go see it!!!
