Sophie Scholl: The Final Days (2005)

In 1943, as Hitler continues to wage war across Europe, a group of college students mount an underground resistance movement in Munich. Dedicated expressly to the downfall of the monolithic Third Reich war machine, they call themselves the White Rose. One of its few female members, Sophie Scholl is captured during a dangerous mission to distribute pamphlets on campus with her brother Hans. Unwavering in her convictions and loyalty to the White Rose, her cross-examination by the Gestapo quickly escalates into a searing test of wills as Scholl delivers a passionate call to freedom and personal responsibility.

First of all, beautifully shot. Having read The White Rose for school, I was excited about this movie. Yet again, such great integrity from Julia Jentsch as Sophie Scholl. I agree with some other people who have reviewed this movie. It was a film that wasn't about the Germans submitting silently to the Nazis but about young people who stand up for what they believe in.

Whoa! There happens to be a freaky little plot twist towards the end. Look closely, you might miss it.

This is simply an excellent movie. Sophie's heroic life and undying spirit is excellently portrayed by some superb acting by Julia Jentsch. Not a scene is wasted and the dramatic ending will keep you thinking. A must see. English subtitles.

It's a good movie about in WWII if u wrote a peice of paper that says i hate Hitler u would be killed it's all in german so i have to sepak german to see the movie but it is rly good

I loved this film. I had been familar with the story of Sophie Scholl, so thats one reason why I saw it. I was also fascinated that the film was from Germany, so I felt that seeing it in the German language added more authenticity. Julia Jentsch was completely wonderful as Scholl, as was the rest of the cast. The capture scene in the university is one of the most frightening & suspensful scenes I have seen, since because I knew the true story, I knew that they were going to get caught. Amazing film. My 2nd favourite film of 2005.
