This was another one of the best films ever made, depicting the struggles, but at the same time, explaining the depth of commitment people had for the cause and the reasons why they were so committed.. Its shocking at times, but written so so well.

Mirren is intensely powerful, and Flanagan is great too. Powerful historical drama about a hunger strike in 1981 by IRA prisoners protesting against the treatment of these prisoners as criminals instead of prisoners of war.
