Excellent film! Its truly a heart breaking story and was at times hard for me to watch. Jim Sheridan has once again proven he is a brilliant filmmaker. "In the Name of the Father" is filled with fantastic directing, acting, and writing. A true masterpiece. Daniel Day-Lewis is flawless. He without a doubt is the ultimate actor. Day-Lewis delivers a mind-blowing, powerhouse performance!!!

This is the film of my life. When I saw it for the first time, I was 15 and I have seen it many times since then but my feelings about haven't changed.

Daniel Day-Lewis' best performance pre-retirement, after which he returned with the two of the greatest performances ever in Gangs of New York and There Will Be Blood. Of all the films dealing with the troubles of Ireland, this may be the most effective and gut-wrenching.

This movie gets lost in the mix sometimes because it was a bit overshadowed by Schindler's List the year it came out. But this is Daniel Day-Lewis at his finest, and could have easily taken the oscar any other year (similar to There Will Be Blood this year). Must see for any fan of great acting.
