Six Shooter (2004)

Overwhelmed by grief following the death of his wife, Donnelly shares a train carriage home with a troubled young man identified only as the 'Kid'. As the Kid becomes more agitated and foul-mouthed, the journey takes on a violent and dangerous hue – for the bereaved Donnelly and for other hapless passengers on the train.

Hell, I adore this film. Martin McDonagh has created a genuinely wonderful piece of short film here. Gleeson is fabulous as a mourning gentlemen and Conroy is ace. Some fantastic one-liners and though the theme of the film is certainly not a happy one, you come away from it feeling like things will be OK. "Look at him would you, he looks like that fella offa Bronski Beat!". Fabulous.

Interesting piece of dark comedy by Martin McDonagh. Fans of In Bruges will appriciate the pitch black comedy of menace that McDonagh pervays here. As a writer McDonagh has a command of the english language.
