Sexy band girls, innuendo that must have scandalized in the 50s, racist stereotypes of Italian gangsters, and Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis in drag. This might be one of the best movies of all time. Marylin Monroe is a goddess.

This movie is arguably the best crossdressing comedy/drama of all time, and it is my way of paying tribute to Tony Curtis after his recent death at age 85. Acting alongside Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe, Some Like it Hot has stood the test of time as one of the funniest comedies in American cinema. The American Film Institute even put it at the top of their 10 funniest movies of all time.

“Some like it hot” (1959) is a romantic comedy. It was written and directed by Billy Wilder, who was also the producer of the movie. The actors who played their roles are Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon among others. The jazz saxophone player and the jazz double bass player, whose names are Joe and Jerry, trying to escape from some gangsters. They dress as women and with an all-female band go to Florida by train. “Some like it hot” won three Golden Globe Awards: Best Actor in a Motion Picture for Jack Lemmon, Best Actress in a Motion Picture for Marilyn Monroe and Best Motion Picture. This movie is extremely enjoyable. It gives many positive vibes.

I just watched this classic again for the first time in about 30 years. It's still got it. The acting is over-the-top brilliant. Hilarious script, and the timing on the humor is perfection. My favorite Marilyn Monroe movie, I think. She just feels like such a real person with vulnerabilities in it, in spite of her stunning appearance. Love, Love, Love this movie. So much fun.
