Predictable but still exciting tale after one gets over the expectation of a Leslie Neilson spoof. Interesting enough characters with Chuck at his heroic best and James Brolin doing a respectable Anthony Perkins 'Psycho' turn. No special effects, slash editing or arty/far fetched cinematography. Hooray.

Skyjacked is a decent film. It is about crazed Vietnam vet bomber who hijacks a Boeing 707. Charlton Heston and James Brolin give good performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. John Guillermin did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the adventure and drama.

Terror in the skies as a crazed man hijacks a plane with intentions of diverting it to Moscow. Turbulent action featuring superstar Charlton Heston at the helm. A clear product of the disaster film era. Made with serious intentions but the passing of time has transformed some scenes and dialogue into unintended comedy--including an underdeveloped love triangle between three members of the flight crew told via flashbacks.

One of the lesser known disaster films from 1970's despite starring Charlton Heston is pretty decent. Takes something relatively routine (several characters in a precarious position) and adds plenty of suspense into the mix though I don't think a plane being hijacked had been done at that point so relatively original. Good production and score while being a good distraction. Nothing really special but not awful either, unlike what came about towards the end of the decade.

Required viewing for bad movie afficienados. Pretty standard 70s airplane disaster plot including crazed bombers, armed Soviets, cheesy romantic flashbacks with soft focuses, a pregnant lady giving birth on a hijacked plane, a planeload full of formerly famous and/or cheesy people led by none other than Charlton Heston (can you imagine?) and young James Brolin in a completely wigged-out stoner performance as a crazed veteran. Did I use the word turgid already?
