Kurosawa's Seven Samurai is the very apex of cinema. It tells a complete and full story, rich with striking action and compassionate humanity. It literally is the three-and-a-half hour epic so many filmmakers have tried and failed to produce.

First time I watched it unaware it was Akira. But it drew me forcefully. I learned since that Kurosawa films tend to have broad appeal.

In preparation for Red Dead Redemption 2, I finally watched Seven Samurai and have come to a few conclusions. 1) It is as good as everyone says it is 2) There was a hell of a lot more Man-Ass than I was expecting.
