The film has an unforced confidence in its pacing, its performances and its production design. A tasty snack, rather than a meal.

Jason Solomons 30 Oct 2017

The clothes are beautiful and the set design exquisite in their Japanese minimalism but, despite the sweet-natured tale and attractive performances, it's the grub that wins out.

such a great film that shows the beauty of fine cooking. The performances within this movie is wonderfully done! beautiful scenery too!

Trevor Johnston 11 Dec 2014

If only the film shared the old chef's genuine passion, this might have been one to savour.
