This film is crazy! Chopped together from a previous film (Grudge Of The Sleepwalking Woman aka Mongnyeohan, 1983) this film is a mishmash lacking both cinematic artistry and narrative coherence. In an attempt to gain a western audience, a film about a snake woman going on a killing spree while being in an affair with a cop, is spliced with footage of Richard Harrison doing some action and going after a witch. The original film is already a mess of mixed pacing, motifs and feel so to throw in completely unrelated footage makes this "new" film somewhat of a brain twister. But, it squeaks into the realm of SOBIG with plenty of nudity, gore, terrible martial arts, snakes and a rubber suited snake monster. For 99% of movie going audiences, this is a pass. But for those who like something a little different. Something hard to find. Something completely absurd, Scorpion Thunderbolt is just what you're looking for.
