One of my favorite films. Saving Face is unique, real, and meaningful. This is a must see.

I really fell in love with the protagonist, an awkward and charming soft butch. It's romantic, certainly, but far more about her relationship to her family and community. Really fabulous.

This movie was surprising, original, and completely worth my time. It is entertaining, heartwarming, and witty. Exploring traditional chinese culture, and challenging it in a way that I found most respectful, Saving Face allows one an entertaining insight into the relationship between a mother and daughter, both trapped in their own worlds.
