Ruby Sparks (2012)

Calvin is a young novelist who achieved phenomenal success early in his career but is now struggling with his writing – as well as his romantic life. A great follow up for the directors of Little Miss Sunshine. It's funny, it's sweet, it's a beautifully made romantic comedy with a lot of heart to it.

What an emotional journey! Many times exhilarating, devastating, horrific and, ultimately charming. The beautiful and brilliant Zoe Kazan captivates both as screenwriter and as Ruby Sparks herself, addressing the triumphs and harsh truths one ca relate to both as a professional writer and as a man who has lived through the whims and vagaries of love. Paul Dano proves he is one of the most promising young actors working today. If not one of the best films of 2012, then certainly, one of the best independent romances since "500 Days of Summer" and "Safety Not Guaranteed".

I really enjoyed this romantic drama comedy. Paul Dano was an excellent lead, socially awkward and unconventional. Rubt cast perfectly, you can see why Calvin wrote her, she's amazing. This was like a Stranger Than Fiction meets Like Crazy. Really liked it. Miserable, funny, tragic, wierd... Chris Messina and Elliot Gould were great but the man himself Antonio Banderas... superb cameo part. Anyone who is as sentimental and romantic as I am, you have to see this.
