An outstanding film. Smit-McPhee is most impressive. Csokas delivers one of the great moments without uttering a word. Thwarted only by its title, ironically, as the difficulty with the name Romulus is dealt with in a short scene between Bana and Smit-McPhee.

The acting was superbly done all around. Smit-McPhee was wonderful. An incredibly depressing story especially since its true and a kid actually had to go through this. I love how they tied the beginning and the end together with the bee scene.

ROMULUS, MY FATHER is based on Raimond Gaita's critically acclaimed memoir. It tells the story of Romulus, his beautiful wife, Christina, and their struggle in the face of great adversity to bring up their son, Raimond. It is a story of impossible love that ultimately celebrates the unbreakable bond between father and son. The acting throughout is superb, especially by the young Raimond, its heartfelt and thoroughly engaging! Top that with stunning photography and scenery and i was more than impressed!

excellent writing, acting and direction. I was disapointed that Romulas' relationship with the animals was not explored. That was an important part of Romulas that we never saw.
