An amazingly heart-warming and tear-jerking movie. Stellar performances from EVERYONE (including Franka Potente, who I'm not a big fan of). But Kodi Smit-McPhee was the big surprise. Boy, that kid has a career ahead of him...unless he's like Keisha Castle-Hughes who was also totally amazing in Whale Rider.

:fresh: :fresh: :fresh: (out of four) Eric Bana gives one of his best performances as a father of an outgoing son in Australia in the early 1960's. While all the performances are good, the film touches most of the right bases, but doesn't spring enough to life to make this a great movie. Instead we get one that is good, but just barely.

depressing in parts, but a great film nonetheless. Kodi is fantastic and moving in his debut. Worth watching.

I like the movie, its minimal and a tearjerker. This is a story of Raymond Gaita about his love for his father, their hard life as immigrants in Australia during the early 60's and the psychological problems of both his mother and father.

This movie was very sad but it was a good movie and it was shot very well.
