Rings (2005)

Some time after the events of The Ring, a subculture of people voluntarily watch Samara Morgan's video and wait to see how close to the seven-day deadline they can get before showing it to the next person. They record everything they see and share their experiences on a secret website dedicated to the videotape. No one has ever recorded a day seven.

This short is better than the two American RING movies (well, definitely the 2nd), IMO. Very creepy.

A fine little short film that was actually a lot better than the actual film it accompanied. An interesting plot, interesting visuals and camera use, and overall an effective bridge between the Ring and its sequel. A good example of the creative value and effectiveness of short films.

This is a 15-minute short movie that serves as a sort of prequel to The Ring Two. It begins with high-schooler Jake on day 7 of "having the Ring curse". He's on the phone with someone and he's scared, but he's being advised to "record everything he sees". Then we move to a flashback showing Jake's story--from his initial involvement with "The Ring" up to the opening point of the movie and slightly beyond. As a bridge to The Ring Two, Rings only really links to the beginning of its feature-length sibling. That's bad news for The Ring Two, because this is a much better movie. It has a more interesting story, the "background premise" is much more interesting, the effects have more impact, and the cinematography is much better. In fact you get more packed into this 15 minute movie than The Ring Two itself. If you're a Ring fan, you should definitely check this one out.

This short film, also included on some of the dvds for the Ring 2 was by far a superior film to the Ring 2. Ring 2 was a piece of garbage, this movie was by far incredibly superior. It's short at only 16 mins but manages to achieve all the moodiness of the first movie that the second film could barely even achieve through the whole film. (and lost most of it during that horrible kitchen sequence.. ugh)

For a short movie it's pretty good. Almost as good as the ring and the ring 2. Due to its short lengh it is more intense than a regular movie. Ryan Merriman acts very well as someone who will die in seven days.
