Reprisal (2018)

Jacob, a bank manager haunted by a violent heist that took the life of a coworker, teams up with his ex-cop neighbor, James, to bring down the assailant. While the two men work together to figure out the thief's next move, Gabriel, the highly-trained criminal, is one step ahead. When Gabriel kidnaps Jacob's wife and daughter, Jacob barrels down a path of bloodshed that initiates an explosive counterattack and brings all three men to the breaking point.

Reprisal is a low-budget action movie and it does its best to remind its audience of that fact until the end. Mindless car chases and shootouts are the basis for this generic piece that lacks a coherent plot as much as decent actors. Willis and Grillo did an embarrassing job in this movie which is a shame as they're both talented actors. I'm certain if I hadn't seen it on a boring Saturday night crunching a bowl of chips, I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as I did.

I've watched a lot of bad movies in my time but I think this definitely ranks in the top 3 stinkers. A not too terrible cast trapped in a badly directed, badly written, badly edited mess. There are so many things wrong with this movie I don't even know where to begin to list them all. Lets just say Bruce Willis could have sent along a cardboard cut out to play his part and we wouldn't have known the difference. The editing is terrible. Badly timed cuts, segments were it feels like actors are alone in the room delivering lines while their fellow actors came along days later and shot their parts alone in the same room. Broken logic in so many parts of the movie and non sensical actions. How this got made let alone released is a mystery! Only watch it you want to see an incredible compilation of movie making mistakes all in one place.
