Renoir (2012)

In the French Riviera in the summer of 1915, Jean Renoir, son of the Impressionist painter Pierre-Auguste, returns home to convalesce after being wounded in World War I. At his side is Andrée, a young woman who rejuvenates, enchants, and inspires both father and son.

If you are interested in Renoir, you're better off gazing at his beautiful body of work.

You would need a soul of potash not to savour the delicious fauna and flattering southern light. But the film never gets far beyond the decorative.

This movie is a gem, and a must see for those who appreciate the art of the French film. The videography is breathtaking, the acting and story touches the heart, the historic context is very interesting.
