Growing up in Greenville, Texas, Bart Millard suffers physical and emotional abuse at the hands of his father, Arthur. When Arthur becomes terminally ill, he finds redemption by embracing his faith and rediscovering his love for his son. Years later, Bart's troubled childhood and mended relationship with his dad inspires him to write the hit song "I Can Only Imagine" as singer of the Christian band MercyMe.

Great movie! Critics of course are only giving their opinions. I would bet most are not Christians so the whole relationship with Jesus concept does not appeal to them. I will probably see it again! Loved to hear about the early years of Bart & how the song came about.

The profoundly deep and inspiring message of the hit song comes alive in this beautiful film. The movie dares to baldly and openly tell a story of love lost, hope found, and, ultimately, forgiveness and grace. Easily the best faith movie of the generation and equally inviting to people from all walks of life.

This movie was incredible on many levels, and the audience score should cause shame to the critics. The low score of the critics, in addition to their condescending remarks reveals their bias against Christian films. If critics are 30% off from the audience, what purpose do they serve? I won't be consulting the critics the next time a christian movie comes out.

I cried through the whole movie. If you want to watch a real movie with a real-life story this is it. Great family movie.
