I waited two years to see this movie. I went with two friends, who yawned through it. I was glued to the screen. Thanks, Mr. Beatty.

Love, literature and revolution... plus "The Engine" and "Krasnaya Armee" songs and a labrador puppy: what more do you want in a film?

Epic. All it took was one movie to confirm Warren Beatty as a brilliant filmmaker

Political drama and a sweeping romance all in one film..only Warren Beartty could do it right. With a terrific cast including Diane Keaton as the femenist Louise Bryant and Jack Nicholson as the morosly drunken playwright Eugene O'Neill. The film is cut throat and for a political drama that runs over three hours, it makes you question you values. It's one of those silent masterpieces if you know what i mean, and it's one of my favorites.
