[Jackie] Chan's familiar blend of action comedy is undercut by a persistent line in wince-inducing pro-China rhetoric.

Leaving the theater, I passed the cinema showing La La Land and heard some of its music, that was the most entertaining part of my outing.

Honestly, I loved it. It's been a while since I've seen a Jackie Chan film but I've always loved films involving him since I was a kid. I think that considering the real life circumstances the Japanese are presented fairly considering they murdered thousands of Chinese civilians during the time period of the film. Some asshats might say this is a jingoistic film while looking past the numerous American films about Americans kicking fascist ass, so the Chinese and their 8th Route Army deserve some respect. U.S. Marine Evans Fordyce Carlson of Carlson's Raiders fame admired and observed them before the U.S. entered WWII. From them came the old Marines motto, "Gung ho." I enjoyed the banter between the heroes and found the pacing fine because I was having fun the whole time.

It's fun to watch and Jackie never fails to deliver a satisfying action comedy.

Entertaining, funny, and easy to understand. But there are some scene that's not necessary, and if it's been cut off it wouldn't change the feel of the movie and the story. It would have been better. 3/5
