You can hate Netflix for a million reasons, but not for 'The Sea Beast.' Yes, the story and the designs may feel derivative, and some moments could be cheesy, but it's hard to ignore its anti-capitalism and pro-nature messages. Besides, the animation looks amazing! This is something children and parents would enjoy the same.

What makes it practically perfect is that it accomplishes everything it sets out to do. It is funny, exciting, beautiful, and all-around meaningful.

The water animation was so good, my Dad thought it was a live-action movie. Pixar and Dreamwork have dominated the animation industry but Netflix Animation is showing that they can deliver an animation film just as good. It's a thrilling voyage with a lot of heart.

Cara que animação visualmente bela, fazia tempo que não me surpreendia com obra desse estilo, como também foi a primeira vez que me senti desconfortável com uma animação ( a talassofobia que é resumidamente, o medo do mar, tá cantando aqui ) porém com um resultado final positivo, que não só me mostrou um trunfo técnico absurdo ( Pixar que se cuide ) como uma bela história e com uma ótima mensagem.

Charm and humor are in shorter supply than you’d hope. There’s barely a funny moment in it, even though there are English-accented attempts at jokes about how often sailors say “Yarrrr,” and a cute baby beast is introduced, right on cue, in the later acts.
