Dr. Archie Bollen is having a midlife crisis. He's just divorced his wife and is establishing a new life for himself. I was completely enthralled with this film, the characters and the unique style, but when it got to the end it was nothing more than a vacant and typical 60s romp. Certainly it had serious depth and dealt with some complicated subjects, but the flashy way in which it is delivered cheapens it. Overall, a solid film but forgettable.

A film made for multiple viewings. What seems on the surface to be a rather lame love melodrama is heightened by a radical editing style that would outrage people who were confused by INCEPTION. Upon seeing the film a second time, I have a completely different interpretation of what happened, and I imagine the next time I see I'll have yet another interpretation.

R.Lester is my favorite director. And it is one of the favorite movies in the world. The feeling it has is like "Haiku," the type of Japanese poem.

Beautifully crafted film set in late 1960s San Francisco. A marvel of storytelling for those that are game. A must-see! Julie Christie is simply breathtaking in every single shot.
